Anglicanized Anaphora of St. John Chrysostom

The Lord be with you.
And with thy spirit.

Lift up your hearts.
We lift them unto the Lord.

Let us give thanks unto the Lord our God.
It is meet and right so to do.

It is indeed meet, right, and our bounden duty, in every place of thy dominion, to render thanks unto thee, almighty Father, for thou art invisible and ineffable, beyond all mortal understanding and comprehension, existing forever and unchanging.

Thou didst fashion us out of nothing, and when we were fallen, thou didst raise us up again.  Though unworthy, because of our manifold sins and wickedness, thou madest us worthy, and lead us to thine heavenly kingdom through the merits of thy Son Jesus Christ.

For this and all things thou hast given us, known and unknown, seen and unseen, do we give thee hearty thanks.  And moreover do we thank thee for accepting these prayers from our unworthy lips, surrounded as thou art by the unnumbered host of heaven, by angels and archangels, seraphim and cherubim, which we join in forever singing this victory hymn:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
Heaven and earth are full of thy glory.
Hosannah in the highest.
Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Hosannah in the highest.

With these blessed powers, merciful Father, do we proclaim thou art most holy, together with thy Son and thy Holy Spirit, and thy glory is without compare.  Thou didst so love the world that thou gavest thine only begotten Son, to the end that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  To this end was he born, and did fulfil thy divine purpose for us.

On the night when he delivered himself up for the sins of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ did take bread in his holy, pure, and sinless hands, gave thanks, blessed and hallowed it, broke it, and gave it unto his disciples, saying,  Take ye and eat: This is my Body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.

Likewise after supper he took the cup, and when he had again given thanks, he gave it unto them, saying, Drink all of ye this: This is my Blood of the new Testament, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sin. As oft as ye drink of it, do this for the remembrance of me.

Remembering therefore this our Saviour's command, and all that which came to pass for our sake: his Cross and burial, his Resurrection and Ascension, his enthronement at thy right hand, and his second, glorious coming, we offer unto thee these gifts from thy gifts, in all and for all.

We praise thee, we bless thee,
we give thanks unto thee,
and we pray to thee, O Lord our God.

Once again do we offer unto thee this spiritual duty, with no blood shed, and beseech thee to send down thy Holy Spirit upon thy people and these gifts here presented, making this bread and this wine the precious Body and Blood of thy Son Jesus Christ, that they may be to them which partake of it the food and drink of life everlasting through him.

We beseech thee, merciful Lord, to remember those which repose in the faith [especially N.], for the patriarchs of old, for prophets, for apostles and martyrs, preachers and evangelists, and for every righteous spirit made perfect in thy faith; but especially the holy, pure, and ever-virgin Mary, which art more honourable than the cherubim and more glorious than the seraphim, who didst without corruption give birth to the Word our God.

Verily do we magnify her, together with St. John the Baptist and Forerunner, the holy Apostles, [holy (blessed) N.] and all thy saints, whose supplications thou hearest forever.  Bless, O God, our bishops N. and N., and all bishops, priests, deacons, and other servants of thy Church.  Preserve them in faith, we beseesch thee, and in safety and good health, that they may continue in teaching thine unchanging, unending, and everlasting truth.

Bless and preserve thy holy catholic and apostolic church, and all we who do aspire to live in purity and holiness, sparing us the temptations of the flesh and delivering us from evil.  Keep our community and country in safety, and those public servants which guard our interests, that together we may live lives of pure and quiet holiness.

Remember, O Lord, thy people, and those whom each of us calls to mind.  Remember the strangers, the sick, the poor and suffering, and those held prisoner, and those which minister to them, and send thy boundless mercy upon them all.

Fulfil now, we beseech thee, of thine unending and boundless goodness, grace, and mercy, the fervant supplications of thy servants, gathered together in thy Name and with one accord, as may be best for us; granting us in this world the knowledge of thy Truth, and in the world to come, life everlasting.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, whom with thee and the Holy Spirit do we laud and magnify, one God, from generation unto generation, world without end.  Amen.

And now as our Saviour hath taught us, we are bold to say, &c.
